FamCare

Because of United Way support, FamCare is able to provide appropriate medical screenings for women and men to assist them in remaining healthy and functioning.

Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey

Without United Way support, Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey would not be able to provide a comprehensive senior wellness program that provides preventative education to the senior residents of the Housing Authority of Gloucester County in the most cost efficient ways to manage chronic illness and avoid unnecessary hospitalizations.

Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey

Because of United Way support, Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ is able to instill a sense of leadership and belonging to over 250 at-risk girls.

YMCA

Because of United Way support, Gloucester County YMCA is able to provide care to children who otherwise wouldn't be exposed to the many opportunities and experiences of our outstanding summer day camp.

Center for Family Services

Without United Way support, Center for Family Services would not be able to help children who have witnessed or been victimized by domestic violence heal from their trauma, become survivors, and break the cycle of abuse they have witnessed.

Food Bank of South Jersey

Because of United Way support, the Food Bank of South Jersey developed two new sites to feed children, established four nutrition education and cooking classes in local schools, distributed over 13,000 pounds of food to families, and reached out to senior citizens who might otherwise have had to make the decision between food and the essentials in life such as utilities, rent or medication.

 

 

 

American Red Cross

Without United Way's support, American Red Cross Gloucester County Chapter would not be able to assist those who need assistance because of a residential disaster, which has tripled this year.

Glassboro Child Development Centers

Without United Way support, Glassboro Child Development Centers would not be able to meet its required fifty percent match with NJ After 3, enabling 150 low-income students to participate in expanded learning time programs every day school is in session, and supplement subsidized childcare slots for 82 infants, toddlers and preschoolers year round in a full time early children program.

HollyDELL

Because of United Way support, HollyDELL's Twenty-One Plus program is able to include 38 clients with specialized medical needs into the community on a regular basis...we are able to have a Registered Nurse on site to monitor and address their needs while they enjoy and participate in activities and events in the community.

 

 

NewPoint Behavioral Health Care

Without United Way support, NewPoint Behavioral Health Care would have to eliminate two therapist positions in the Outpatient Department. The 120 clients currently being treated would have to be transferred. This change would interrupt the therapy process and most likely negatively impact client care. In addition, the availability for intakes would decrease while increasing those on the waiting list. There are currently 280 Residents on the waiting list...by eliminating these two therapist positions, the wait list would easily increase to over 400 and, if not urgent care, increase the waiting time from three to six months.

Center for People in Transition

Without United Way support, The Center for People in Transition would not be able to keep their doors open to offer life skills, support groups, and career, financial and legal workshops for 361 displaced homemakers.

Literacy Volunteers of Gloucester County

Without United Way support, Literacy Volunteers of Gloucester County would not be able to maintain its steady growth of helping adults reach their literary goals. Gaining self-sufficiency through reading enables adults to become productive in their community, job, schools, and family life.

 

 

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties

Because of United Way support, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties is able to provide mentors for kids in our community, thereby changing that child, their family and the community.

CONTACT Community Helplines

Without United Way support, CONTACT Community Helplines would not be able to assist over 2,000 residents who are experiencing a personal crisis, and help 40 homebound senior citizens without support networks maintain their independence. Last year with United Way support, the program saved 5 lives!

Woodbury Child Development Center

Without the funding we receive from United Way, we would be forced to decrease the number of children we enroll. This would be a disaster for parents who must work but also for staff who would be terminated due to the decreased enrollment. Thank you for your commitment to our children.

 

 

 

 

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley

Because of United Way support, Volunteers of America Delaware Valley's Eleanor Corbett House is able to provide support services to over 300 homeless women and children, to help them lead self-fulfilled and independent lives.

Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice

Because of United Way support, Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice is able to provide medical and practical support to those facing illness, even while they are still seeking curative treatments.

Repauno Pre School Day Care Center

Because of United Way support, Repauno Pre School Day Care Center is able to provide affordable, quality childcare and early education to 92 children of 75 low-income families. It is a wonderful feeling to see these children grow and learn in a safe and nurturing environment while their parents are working to support their families.

Abilities Center of Southern NJ

Because of United Way support, Abilities Center of Southern NJ is able to provide meaningful vocational assessment and employment opportunities to some of our most vulnerable citizens, and is contributing to the overall health and stability of the family as well.

Volunteer Center of Gloucester County

Because of the United Way, the Volunteer Center of Gloucester County is able to engage hundreds of volunteers to provide thousands of volunteer hours and much needed support to the entire non-profit community.

ARC Gloucester

Without United Way support, The ARC Gloucester would not be able to provide the array of services and activities for children and adults with developmental disabilities at Camp Sun 'N Fun, nor would the families of our campers benefit from the invaluable respite opportunity.

Senior Corps/Community Service Corps of Gloucester County

WIthout United Way support, Senior Corps/Community Service Corps of Gloucester County would not be able to operate and would cease to exist, discontinuing the vital program of connecting volunteers, age 55 and over, with service opportunities such as enhancing the capacity of non-profit organizations for staffing shortfalls, surrogates to help with orphaned or abandoned children, mentoring for special needs individuals, delivering meals to the isolated, insurance counseling to seniors to help them remain independent, hospice volunteers, etc. Many agencies will cease to function without United Way help.

Robins' Nest

Because of United Way support, Robins' Nest is able to provide counseling services to 1,385 residents, including 815 children, through the Danellie Counseling Center. Robins' Nest counselors help our children and families find solutions to ease their pain and suffering.
