Without United Way support, NewPoint Behavioral Health Care would have to eliminate two therapist positions in the Outpatient Department. The 120 clients currently being treated would have to be transferred. This change would interrupt the therapy process and most likely negatively impact client care. In addition, the availability for intakes would decrease while increasing those on the waiting list. There are currently 280 Residents on the waiting list...by eliminating these two therapist positions, the wait list would easily increase to over 400 and, if not urgent care, increase the waiting time from three to six months.

WIthout United Way support, Senior Corps/Community Service Corps of Gloucester County would not be able to operate and would cease to exist, discontinuing the vital program of connecting volunteers, age 55 and over, with service opportunities such as enhancing the capacity of non-profit organizations for staffing shortfalls, surrogates to help with orphaned or abandoned children, mentoring for special needs individuals, delivering meals to the isolated, insurance counseling to seniors to help them remain independent, hospice volunteers, etc. Many agencies will cease to function without United Way help.
