Jaworski Returns To Lead 2009 United Way Campaign

Ron Jaworski, popular Eagles veteran and ESPN Monday Night Football commentator, has been recruited to head the United Way of Gloucester County’s 2009 community campaign.

Jaworski is returning to a role that he successfully held in 1991, leading the local United Way to its first $3 million campaign. The announcement was made by outgoing campaign chair, Mike Pesch, at the organization’s annual volunteer recognition event.

“Campaigns are like football games and to win, you need a plan and a great team and our 2009 roster is brimming with talent,” Pesch stated, adding, “in Ron Jaworski, we also have a great field general and we are grateful to him for rejoining the United Way team.”

A seventeen-year NFL veteran, Jaworski has devoted even more time to United Way activities. In addition to his involvement in Gloucester County, has also been actively involved in United Way of Camden County activities and his “Jaws Youth Fund” is the recipient of his annual Pro-Am golf tournament held earlier this month at the Atlantic City County Club.

“I am excited about the opportunity to team up with my many friends in Gloucester County to help the United Way,” Jaworski, stated. “I know how important the success of the campaign is to the many agencies that receive United Way funding,” he continued.
